The Csurgó Band has been putting smiles on the faces of preschool children for ten years, bringing music, play, and joy into their everyday lives. They hold weekly musical sessions in kindergartens, where through singing and movement, they introduce children to the rich world of Hungarian folk culture.
Their goal is to reach audiences of all ages and bridge the past and the present by adapting folk songs, children’s games, and their own compositions to modern musical tastes. At Csurgó’s concerts, children are not just spectators but enthusiastic participants—singing, dancing, and playing together, often joined by their parents too.
The band’s unique world is guided by the lively and curious character named Ruganykukac, who leads the audience “from the sky’s back to the bottom of the lake,” inviting everyone—young and old alike—to rediscover the joy of singing together.
