The Magyar Népmese Színház (Hungarian Folk Tale Theatre’s) Christmas Nativity Play is based on a traditional puppet nativity from Marosvásárhely, depicting the story of Baby Jesus’s birth—from the search for shelter to the moment of gift-giving. Its special feature is the puppet performance presented after the gifts, meant to entertain Baby Jesus. Children and playful adults are invited to join in the nativity, singing and playing together to relive the wondrous mystery of Jesus’s birth.
