Night of bats in Felsőtárkány

Expired event

On the occasion of the European Year of the Bat, we are joining the program that presents and promotes bats, which takes place all over Europe, for the 16th time. We can get to know this useful, flying animal order belonging to mammals during a presentation and field netting and detection.

As part of the Night of the Bats program, we try to dispel misconceptions and prejudices about bats. The 28 species found in Hungary and their populations are vulnerable, and their protection is extremely important, as they play a key role in the healthy functioning of ecological systems through their consumption of insects.

Since their natural habitat is often destroyed (deforestation, clear-cutting), they are often forced close to humans, which is why it is important to make these "I don't like" animals better known to the general public in order to reduce the possibility of animal-human conflicts.
