The most important sights of the downtown can be found on Eszterházy sguare. The Basilica can be accessed in the most comfortable way by lift on the right to the main entrance, from the car park .
Opposite the Basilica in the Lyceum you can see the Archdiocese Library and the chapel of the Lyceum. The building is accessible and there is a lift in the building up to the second floor.
Not far from here on the main street of the town can be found the Archbishop's Palace the building of which is totally accessible, there are no thresholds and there are toilets on the groundfloor and on the second floor for disabled.
Going along Széchenyi street, turning into any little street on the right you get to the main square of the town, Dobó square. On the way you can have a stopover for a coffee and watch the people walking past on the main street.
You can approach Eger Castle from the northern gate and an excellent view opens up over the Baroque city from the upper part of the castlewall walk.
In Szépasszonyvölgy (Valley of the Beautiful Woman) you can taste the legendary red wine of Eger: Egri Bikavér (Bull's Blood of Eger) or its white sister: Egri Csillag (Star of Eger). You can get into the impressive cellars of Tamás Sike or Ferenc Tóth without steps.
