Leszek Matysiak

Since 1980, Leszek Matysiak has been a member of the Club of Non-Professional Visual Artists operating next to the Przemysl Cultural Center. He participated in outdoor art camps and workshops organized by the Vojvodina Cultural Center and then the Przemysl Cultural Center. He exhibited at numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

He describes himself as follows:

"I have always been involved in drawing, I used different graphic techniques, I tried to find myself in oil painting, watercolor, dry pastels, and recently even in sculpture (clay, plaster, bark, wood). I felt the best when I tried to extract certain imaginary forms from wood, because this material has its own soul. However, I never stopped drawing, it is the basis for me to record volatile thoughts on paper. It's like time that can't be stopped. The architecture of the city of Przemysl fascinated me from the first moment I arrived here (in 1976), and it remains so to this day...”

"... Leszek's graphics are characterized by precise lines, sensitivity to the depth and rhythm of the landscape. His works show well-known corners of the city of Przemysl and its surroundings. What every day what we see, which we hurriedly pass by, suddenly becomes unknown, beautiful, fresh, presented anew..."
