Distance from Eger: 50 km

Eger's neighbor to the northeast is Miskolc, the two county seats are separated by the Bükk Mountains.

Although many people identify the big city of Borsod with its industry, Miskolc has a surprisingly rich and varied tourist offer that is worth exploring. The most convenient way to travel from Eger is by bus and car. From Felsőtárkány, a rather winding and therefore slower, but fabulous mountain road leads. If we approach the city from Mezőkövesd, we can go around the mountain faster, even in 50 minutes.

Diósgyőr Castle

At the foot of the Bükk Mountains, in a beautiful natural environment, you can find the Diósgyőr Castle. The peculiarity of the museum's equipment lies in the informal experience: the visitor can move freely and experience the atmosphere of the medieval castle by trying out everything.

Cave bath

One of the main treasures of Miskolc is the cave system formed into the Cave Bath, which was carved out of the hard limestone rock by water over thousands of years. On the nearly 3.6-hectare landscaped beach area, Barlangfürdő welcomes its guests with a total of six pools rich in experience elements.

Lillafüred

The route that runs along the hanging garden in Lillafüred is a thematic walkway that connects to the Szinva nature trail. The individual stops are about poetry, poets, naturalists, love, but due emphasis is also placed on the natural and man-made environmental elements: the waterfall - which is the highest waterfall in the country -, the Anna cave, the Garadna stream, the József Attila statue, the Ode quote engraved in stone.
