Lords of the Organ - Classic Love concert

Maestro Vivaldi is so popular that, due to public demand, The Four Seasons is on the program again this year after last year's performance.

La Follia (The Madness) is one of the oldest European musical themes, and for centuries it has captivated every listener. Let’s dive into the well of our culture — at its bottom, we will find treasure!

Exactly 150 years ago, Bizet’s masterpiece, Carmen, premiered. I will play a bouquet of themes from the opera—Habanera, Hey Toreador! Each one more beautiful than the last. Unfortunately, at the end of his struggling life, Bizet did not live to see his music written among the stars. It’s an interesting story, and I will share more about it.

Bach’s great G minor Fantasia and Fugue—perhaps only the most devoted fans’ hearts beat faster at the title alone, but anyone who listens to this perfect masterpiece will become a fan, even if they only previously mentioned Bach’s name because their cool friends did. Ten years ago, I recorded it on my BACH album, and in recent weeks, I’ve wondered if I could bring it to a new level. But I must confess, I realized I don’t need to. If I play it as I did back then, every nuance I once crafted in the arrangement will be audible. Then it will be worth coming to more than one concert (or buying the album), because I guarantee even experts won’t catch it all on first listen. Don’t get me wrong, this greatness belongs to the composer, not me. I just bravely showcase it. As I say in these cases: “I have an organ and I’m not afraid to use it!”

I wrestled with whether to release the long-awaited love album. I’ve been working on it since 2018, refining it, and it’s become ever more beautiful, but in the meantime, the era of CDs ended. Finally—oh hubris—I fell in love with it so much it will get a release in a limited edition. From it, I will play the heart-wrenching aria Casta Diva from “Norma” by Bellini—the Swan of Catania—along with Debussy’s Clair De Lune (“Moonlight”). We will cry, but don’t worry, dear listener, not every tear is bitter! Especially not those shed for catharsis and beauty! We will also punch the air with a resounding “YES!” and feel united with every living soul—such is the depth of our heritage’s ocean.

All in all, I bring you the usual style of the Lords of the Organ series! Varied music, power and humility, depths and heights, all in a spectacular concert format, enriched with stunning artistic graphics to accompany the music. After all, like Vivaldi, the concert doesn’t just serve public taste but seeks to shape it!

Let’s experience it together!
