20. August is a national holiday in Hungary to celebrate the foundation of Hungarian state and state-founder king Saint István (Saint Steven).

Shops are closed this day with some exception, but the majority of restaurants, pubs and touristic attractions are open as usual.

From 20:00 a free acoustic concert starts on Dobó square, the main square of the town. Following the concert the evening is closed by fireworks fired from the castle.
