Ceremonial commemoration about the revolution and war of independence of 1848–49.
This day people fix a national tricolor on their clothes. Historically the round-shape Hungarian tricolor with its little ribbons has become the symbol of citizens representing the idea of Hungary becoming independent. Its function used to be to manifest in a visible way that its wearer sympathizes with the ideas of Hungarian revolution.
