VII. Hungaricum Picnic

Egri Bikavér celebrates together with 30 Hungarikums!

It is a great honor for Eger that in 2017 our flagship wine, Egri Bikavér, was awarded the Hungarikum title, which represents the pinnacle of the Hungarian National Values Collection.

Celebrating the anniversary of this event—and strengthening the preservation of our country’s values and the spirit of cooperation—this year the Hungarikum Egri Bikavér will host, for the seventh time, the country’s renowned Hungarikums (primarily outstanding in gastronomy and culture) in Hungary’s largest historic wine quarter, the Valley of the Beautiful Woman (Szépasszony-völgy). At the event, cultural and gastronomic treasures embodying the nation’s top achievements will be showcased, along with handcrafted specialties by small-scale producers and artisans from Eger and the surrounding area.

The most famous Hungarikum dishes in one place: Karcag mutton stew, Baja fisherman’s soup, Tisza fisherman’s soup, Hungarian goulash soup, Csaba sausage, Debrecen double sausage, dishes made from Hungarian Grey cattle, lángos, Gundel pancakes, chimney cake (kürtőskalács), Pozsony kifli…

In the wine cellars and restaurants, in addition to Egri Bikavér, you can also taste further Hungarikums, spritzers (fröccs) and pálinka.
