Charity Initiatives
A Mug Full of Love
Eger Advent 2026 is not only about heartwarming festive moments, but also about the strength of community and the spirit of togetherness.
As part of this year's event series, we are once again launching our traditional charity mug campaign.
By purchasing a specially designed Eger Advent mug, visitors can take home a lovely souvenir while supporting a worthy cause. For every mug sold, HUF 500 will be donated to BEN – Association for Children with Autism.
The association works to support people with autism and their families, promote equal opportunities and strengthen social acceptance and inclusion.
By purchasing a mug, you can take home a charming festive keepsake while making a meaningful contribution to those who need support the most.
Fill your mug with a warm drink and your heart with the joy of giving!
Hungarian Interchurch Aid Donation Point at Eger Advent
Founded in 1991, Hungarian Interchurch Aid is one of Hungary's largest and most internationally recognised charitable organisations. Regardless of nationality, religion or personal beliefs, the organisation provides assistance to people in need in Hungary, throughout the Carpathian Basin and in numerous countries around the world, while adhering to the highest professional and transparency standards.
In 2026, Hungarian Interchurch Aid is launching its Advent Fundraising Campaign for the 31st time. Over the years, the initiative has grown into Hungary's largest Christmas charity campaign. Its iconic gingerbread heart bearing the words szeretet.éhség. (Love. Hunger.) has become a powerful symbol for hundreds of thousands of Hungarians, representing one of the most important messages of Christmas: putting love into action by helping those in need.
This ever-growing festive movement of solidarity enables the organisation to provide effective assistance not only during the Christmas season, but throughout the entire year, offering food, shelter and opportunities to people facing hardship.
On December 18, 19 and 20, 2026, representatives of Hungarian Interchurch Aid will be accepting monetary donations at Dobó Square. As a token of appreciation, donors will receive a gingerbread heart decorated by the organisation's volunteers.
