Jagiellonians on the Kraków, Buda, and Prague Thrones 1386–1572 – exhibition

Temporary exhibition jointly organized by the Rapperswil Society, the Polish-Swiss Association, the Association of Polish Archivists, and the Eger Polonia Club.

The exhibition evokes the kings, queens, and descendants of the Jagiellonian dynasty. In 2026, it will be the 500th anniversary of the defeat and death of Louis II (1506–1526), King of Bohemia and Hungary, at the Battle of Mohács in 1526. His death marked the end of the Jagiellonian dynasty’s rule in Central and Eastern Europe, although Poland continued to be governed by the Jagiellons for a time. The last member of the family, Sigismund II Augustus (1520–1572), died childless in 1572, bringing the Jagiellonian dynasty to an end.

The exhibition is open until December 15, 2025.
